Why helping others first ultimately helps yourself
“You can get your own benefit after everyone else also gets something.”This means:
“If you want to do something big, try to act for everyone first.”
But for people who don’t understand yet, it may look like:
“You should hold back your own needs and work hard for everyone.”
If they think like that, they may say:
“Only great people can do that. I guess I don’t need to.”
So they stop trying and choose small, quick benefits instead.
People who understand think carefully.
They do not decide only by feelings.
They think, “What will happen later because of what I do now?”
This way of thinking is not about personality or intelligence.
It is only about whether you can think in that way.
What is important is:
Doing things for others will also help yourself in the end.
But people are weak to immediate, small rewards.
So it is hard to think about bigger benefits in the future.
Not many people understand this.
The difference is simple:
It is just about how you think.
